The 2nd FAMUS/FUSIC course (Oct '25)
About this Course
🩺 FUSIC (Focused Ultrasound in Intensive Care) Developed by the Intensive Care Society (ICS, UK). A structured accreditation pathway in critical care ultrasound. Covers cardiac, lung, abdominal, and procedural ultrasound applications. Focus: Managing critically ill patients with bedside imaging to guide resuscitation and treatment. Ideal for: ICU, Emergency Medicine, and Anaesthesia doctors seeking accredited ultrasound skills. ✨ Why take it? Recognized across the UK and internationally, FUSIC gives you competence and confidence in ultrasound-guided diagnosis and management of the sickest patients. --- 🩺 FAMUS (Focused Acute Medicine Ultrasound) Developed by the Society for Acute Medicine (SAM, UK). Designed specifically for Acute and Internal Medicine physicians. Focuses on core ultrasound skills to rapidly assess acutely unwell patients on the medical take. Core modules: lung, heart (basic), abdomen (including kidneys/bladder), and DVT assessment. Complements the acute physician’s role in rapid triage, diagnosis, and safe procedural guidance. ✨ Why take it? FAMUS is now the standard ultrasound accreditation for Acute Medicine in the UK, enhancing bedside decision-making and patient safety. --- ✅ In short: FUSIC = ICU / EM focused → advanced, multi-organ critical care ultrasound. FAMUS = Acute Medicine focused → core bedside ultrasound for acutely unwell patients.
